Heritage

A 19th-century livery, retrofitted for a new century of Portland.

Built in 1886, the Carriage & Baggage Building was originally used as a livery and horse-drawn carriage storage facility — with horse stalls on the second floor and four massive water tanks on the roof.

Today the massive Doug Fir timber frame has been retrofitted to modern seismic requirements while retaining the original skylight at the roof. The building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

From Google Reviews

"Trendy spot in Portland for a bit of lunch or dinner. Place was full with a mixture of tourists and business people. Various food stalls including Thai, Sushi, Ramen, Açaí, Donuts, Barista and a Bar. I had a 'Sushi Burrito' which was incredible — fresh high quality ingredients, beautiful flavours and satisfying portion size."

"Can be a bit chaotic when it's busy but the spicy vegan ramen is SO good. Service can be a little slow but that's to be expected since the kitchen is so small and demand is high! Def grab a local beer at the taproom in the middle of the — lazy day was lovely."
